A large number of colorful umbrellas hang above a street at Águeda, a municipality in Portugal, as a part of a public art installation. Aside from providing a nice shade, it looks delightfully beautiful.

Pictures of the umbrellas were captured by Patricia Almeida with iPhone.

Man in Pink Tutu Fights Breast Cancer

The mission of The Tutu Project™ is to raise funds to cover the cost of self-publishing Ballerina. It’s also the story of doing good while doing well; Ballerina is a book all about a man, his pink tutu and raising funds for women with breast cancer.

The tutu project is a project started by a man in attempt to raise funds for breast cancer.

The photographer is a man named Bob Carey, who is inspired by his wife. His wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, she beat it only to have it recur again in 2006.

Bob says that during these past nine years he has been in awe of her power, her beauty, and her spirit.
“Oddly enough, her cancer has taught us that life is good, dealing with it can be hard, and sometimes the very best thing—no, the only thing—we can do to face another day is to laugh at ourselves, and share a laugh with others.”

Bob is selling prints as well as t-shirts, postcards, and a personalized book in attempt to fund a book celebrating the photographs he’s created, share them with the world, and help out breast cancer organizations. The net proceeds from the sales of the book will go directly to breast cancer organizations, including Cancercare.org and the Beth Israel Department of Integrative Medicine Fund.

Their goal is to raise $75,000 before the book is published.

Curiosity

This amazing, timeless photograph is captured by Andrea Smith

Modern photography is focused so much on photoshop, unnatural posing and many of them are quite cheesy. I miss old good portraiture and documentary photography. This photo makes me smile big time and happy knowing that there are some photographers who still capture life!

Hobbit Home for People!

Simon Dale from Wales made his own home – Fairy Tale Home!
Simon made the loveliest, warmest, most inviting dwellings you could ever imagine and it costs only $4,700!

It took him only four months to produce this lovely home and he focused on tools that used his own energy, like shovel, chisel, and hammer.

The home is constructed from wood, stone, straw, and has a sod roof. It’s heated with a wood fireplace and has a solar panel for power. Most materials were scavenged and refurbished appliances.

The attention to making the home eco-friendly extends to a compost toilet, the use of straw over a plastic layer for insulation, and a refrigerator that’s cooled with air that flows from under the home’s foundation. Cement is a high carbon emitter, so the interior walls are finished with lime plaster instead of cement plaster.

Surreal World of Yves Lecoq

Yves Lecoq is an amazing artist and photographer. He is French and that’s pretty all I know about him. Maybe biography isn’t really so important, what remains in the end is what we did and made during our lifetime and this man creates truly stunning fine art photography.

Enjoy!

The Animal Collection by Maximo Riera

World renowned Spanish designer Maximo Riera has made quite a name for himself designing his spectacular Animal Chair Collection over the past few years, which consists of a the Elephant Chair, Walrus Chair, Rhino Chair, and the most popular the Octopus Chair.

The Animal Chair collection constitutes a diverse range of species, from mammals to reptiles, and even including insects. Each creation retains the animal’s natural vitality whilst being totally biological accurate in their appearance. This collection is homage to these animals and the whole animal kingdom which inhabits our planet, as an attempt to reflect and capture the beauty of nature in each living thing.

Octopus Book: the Octopus Chair is the first piece of the Animal Chair collection, and it establishes a base and point of departure for the pieces to come.

I love clever advertising!

This Ariel campaign is one of my favorite. I love how they used emotions, nostalgia and piece of history to send very clear message – No matter how old is your clothes, Ariel will make it so clean that looks like brand new!

Joel Robison Photography

Joel Robison a.k.a Boy Wonder lives in a valley in British Columbia’s Rocky Mountains, as close to the forest as I could possibly be!

He is a boy that wonders, but also a grown up boy that makes wonderful, inspiring, creative photographs. He takes self-portraits as a way of magnificent artistic expression.

Let’s have a look into his incredible, imaginative world!
